Career Counselor is responsible for implementing all components of the Pre-ETS and curriculum within the Shop in a manner which is reflective of KCARC’s mission to advocate and provide opportunities in dignified and respectful manner for the total well-being of individuals and families with special needs.
1. Maintain reliable transportation available for use during working hours, valid driver’s license and provide proof of automobile liability coverage.
2. Possess ability to maintain flexible schedule to meet the demands of the department.

Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma required.
Experience working in an educational environment or additional college credit hours/degree are a plus. Experience or formal training in job placement, task analysis, data keeping, job analysis and work site training is needed. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to complete detailed case notes for their clients required. Must demonstrate insight, sensitivity, flexibility, and a strong desire to work with youth and adults.
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
Medication Administration: Core A and Core B
CPR/First Aid
Physical Demands:
The position requires staff to alternate from a sitting position to a standing position frequently. Repetitive motion required. Lifting, bending, twisting, and turning are required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate but occasionally loud. Use of Personal Protective Equipment such as vinyl or latex gloves is occasionally required.
