Reporting to the VP of Communications, the Marketing Manager collaborates with colleagues across the organization to raise the profile of AFT’s brand, experts, and assets across multiple marketing channels. He or she develops, implements, and tracks the success of American Farmland Trust’s marketing strategies.


What You’ll Be Working On


As an integral part of the AFT Communications team, the Marketing Manager provides the leadership and management capability to expand the scope and improve the effectiveness of AFT’s marketing efforts. The Marketing Manager leads the development of forward-looking and big-picture strategies, while managing and refining the tactics necessary to achieve marketing-related goals.  Other duties include,  but are not limited to:

  • Conducting initial audit of AFT’s brand, marketing products, and internal processes.
  • Developing and implement comprehensive marketing strategy for AFT, with sub-strategies for AFT store, printed materials, and advertising.
  • Developing deliverable-specific marketing plans for special projects as needed.
  • Contributing to the development and promotion of existing AFT projects, including annual report and Farmers Market Celebration.
  • Coordinating and develop strategies for communications support of corporate fundraising efforts.
  • Securing speaking opportunities for AFT experts, especially AFT’s President and CEO
  • Tracking marketing-related metrics and report key results to relevant stakeholders.
Requirements

  • Experience with and demonstrated commitment to the development and implementation of effective marketing strategies.
  • Experience with and demonstrated commitment to the development and implementation of effective advertising strategies.
  • Commitment to building work relationships and creating new opportunities. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to troubleshoot and problem solve independently.
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely, in different styles. 
  • Meets deadlines.
  • Knowledge of/Ability to learn Meltwater, Canva, WordPress, and Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Planner.
  • Active commitment to open communication and building relationships within the Communications department and with other departments.
