- Training Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
- Regular Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM after training completion. (with on-call support as needed based on operational demands)

Role Summary: The Dispatcher/Logistics Coordinator serves as the operational link between the company, our customers, company drivers, and third-party carriers. This position plans, coordinates, and executes the daily movement of company-owned assets while securing and managing third-party transportation capacity as needed. The Logistics Coordinator must balance customer expectations, driver needs, equipment availability, carrier relationships, and transportation costs to ensure efficient operations across four key focus areas: Safety, Service, Productivity, and Cost Management.

Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold and maintain the highest standards of the Company's mission, vision, and core values.
- Lead by example and ensure team compliance with all Company policies, processes, and procedures in accordance with the Employee Handbook, Safety Manual, and departmental guidelines.
- Provide effective leadership and work efficiently to solve problems and resolve conflicts among drivers, customers, carriers, and leadership.
- Direct the daily assignment of drivers and truck fleet through dispatch, route, and equipment utilization planning.
- Maintain situational awareness of the entire logistics landscape and be available to support operations as business needs require.
- Provide exceptional customer service through proactive and timely communication.
- Maintain maintenance standards in conjunction with the Fleet Manager, including vehicle records and inspection reports in accordance with DOT requirements.
- Represent the Company with new and existing customers and maintain accurate billing rates in designated systems.
- In conjunction with the EH&S Manager and VP of Logistics, support training initiatives related to DOT, FMCSA regulations, and Company safety practices and policies.
- Make critical decisions to ensure efficient, effective operations and determine appropriate responses to urgent and emerging situations.
- Attend all required Company meetings and training programs.
- Mentor and train team members to support employee development, recruitment, and retention.
- Maximize utilization of company assets while identifying opportunities to supplement capacity through qualified third-party carriers.
- Source, negotiate, and manage third-party transportation providers when company equipment is unavailable or business demands require additional capacity.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, customers, drivers, and internal stakeholders.
- Assist with customer rate development, carrier negotiations, and transportation cost management.
- Ensure accurate load, carrier, customer, billing, and operational information is maintained within company systems.
- Monitor carrier performance and service levels to ensure compliance with company standards and customer expectations.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for improving transportation efficiency, asset utilization, and freight spend management.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of dispatch or logistics coordination experience in a transportation or industrial environment required.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business preferred.
- Experience with fleet scheduling, route optimization, and load planning, highly desirable.
- Proven experience managing communications and expectations with CDL drivers and fleet operations.
- Proficiency in dispatching software, TMS, GPS tracking, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and compliance and driver hours of service rules.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build rapport and maintain professional relationships.
- Able to maintain cross-functional collaboration with various departments and teams.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time-management and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, solve problems quickly, and remain calm under pressure.
- Capable of analyzing delivery schedules, tracking KPIs, and adjusting plans as needed to meet deadlines.
- Must demonstrate leadership, accountability, and adaptability to meet operational demands.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL Class A preferred but not required.
