Description
K2United is an organization housing two distinct national, customer-facing brands connected by a shared purpose: setting the standard for extraordinary workplaces. Through K2Share and CareerSafe, we provide advisory services in cyber risk management and online education for workforce readiness.
At its core, K2United is a group of unique people coming together to do the remarkable. We believe in creating a workplace where sincerity and open communication are the norm. We value respect, encourage innovation, and believe in collaboration and a little nerdy camaraderie.
Our teams have provided cybersecurity advisory services to federal agencies for more than 20 years. Through our CareerSafe brand, we also develop industry-recognized online workforce readiness education. K2United is a certified Great Place to Work® and has been named one of the Best Small Workplaces™ in the United States.
We are seeking an HX Operations Manager to lead the people, systems, and programs responsible for a consistent and dependable employee experience. This hands-on leadership role oversees HX operations, including recruiting, onboarding, employee support, engagement, compliance, records, payroll, compensation, and benefits.
HX means Human Experience, the K2United version of Human Resources. HX helps represent K2U's commitment to place the employee experience at the center of the systems, processes, and decisions that shape how work gets done. We believe people matter most, and our operations should make that belief visible. Our Great Place to Work certification & achievements reflect what employees say about working here, making it a meaningful measure of whether we are living that commitment. The HX team helps turn that commitment into the consistent, everyday experience our people deserve.
The HX Operations Manager also serves as a leader on K2United’s cross-functional Business Operations team. This team brings together leaders from Finance, Security, Information Technology, Data, Human Experience, and Quality Assurance to lead core business operations across the company. Representing HX, this role helps establish shared priorities, coordinate operational work, manage organizational risks, and strengthen the systems that support the business.
About You
You may not have called this work HX before. You may have called it good leadership, thoughtful operations, or simply taking care of people. If you have created clarity, removed friction, built processes around the people who use them, and made it easier for employees to succeed, you have already been practicing HX.
You understand that systems and processes are not the end goal. Their purpose is to create a consistent experience in which employees feel supported, understand what is expected, and can do their best work. You turn complex systems into reliable, repeatable processes without losing sight of the people those systems serve.
You thrive where people, process, and business operations intersect. You enjoy bringing clarity to complexity, connecting work across teams, and improving systems until they are both dependable and easy to use. You anticipate problems, remove friction, and create the structure people need to succeed. You are energized by building an employee experience that is thoughtful, consistent, and supported by strong operational practices.
You combine practical Human Resources experience with strong business judgment. You know how to lead people, establish clear expectations, coach performance, and ensure commitments are completed. You are comfortable operating as both a functional leader and an enterprise partner, with an understanding of how HX decisions affect Finance, Security, IT, Data, Quality Assurance, and the broader organization.

- Use data, feedback, scorecard measures, automation, and AI tools to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency, service quality, knowledge access, and scalability across HX Operations.
- Have experience leading HR, people operations, or employee experience functions.
- Understand recruiting, onboarding, employee support, engagement, HRIS administration, payroll, benefits, compensation, records management, and employment compliance.

- Contribute effectively to cross-functional planning, prioritization, and problem-solving.
- Use data, dashboards, reporting, and AI tools to identify issues, improve workflows, and support decisions while protecting confidential information.
- Communicate policies, compensation, benefits, and operational decisions clearly and accurately.
- Build productive relationships with employees, leaders, vendors, carriers, and cross-functional partners.
