Job Summary

Encino Energy is seeking to hire a Senior Midstream & Marketing Accountant, reporting to the Operations Accounting Controller within the Accounting Department. The ideal candidate will utilize their experience and industry knowledge to manage Encino Energy’s oil, natural gas, and NGL midstream and marketing accounting needs. This role will work closely with the Marketing, Trading, and Scheduling teams and will require flexibility within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile midstream activity from sales delivery meter through midstream infrastructure and to the tailgate of processing plants
• Reconciliation and payment of all midstream invoices
• Coordinate with Midstream & Marketing and Production teams as well as third parties to ensure accounting entries are accurate
• Research and analyze volume discrepancies with midstream providers
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), and all relevant company policies and procedures
• Support process improvements and optimize efficiencies in the accounting and reporting areas, including elimination or streamlining of manual or non-effective tasks
• Track and record inventory and imbalances
• WASP calculation for all product streams
• Ensure that all plant and downstream costs are in the system accurately and in a timely manner
• Assist with ad-hoc requests and special projects, as needed

Qualifications

• Oil and gas experience required; midstream accounting strongly preferred
• Settlements experience preferred
• Endur experience or experience using a similar system preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
• Detail oriented, analytical, and inquisitive
• Ability to work independently and with others
• Extremely organized with strong time-management skills
• Strong communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation capabilities 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and engage collaboratively with multiple functions

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• A minimum of ten years of oil and gas accounting experience required.

Relocation

This position is not eligible for domestic relocation.

Travel Requirements

The percentage of travel anticipated for this position is 5 -10%, including overnight extended stays.

Work Environment

This job is predominately located in a professional office environment with travel to customer locations and occasional travel to the field operations.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position. Encino has a compressed work week with a “4/9/4” Work Schedule. Employees have the option to work four, nine-hour days with the addition of four hours each Friday. Some flexibility in hours is allowed. Some afterhours / weekend or emergency work may be required.
