We’re seeking candidates for a non-traditional, paid internship to work within our Strategy & Client Services team. Our ideal candidate wants to learn more about digital strategy (communications, advocacy, and marketing) and already has some technical knowledge, excellent research and writing skills, as well as the ability to think creatively in a team environment.


This position will be responsible for assisting in the development and execution of digital marketing strategies on behalf of NJI Media’s diverse roster of clients, as well as the firm itself. The selected candidate will play an active role in developing digital marketing activities that are consistent with overall communications plans, build engagement across a number of platforms, and purposefully reach targeted audiences with smart, creative content of all forms. The internship will provide a unique opportunity to work on behalf of globally-recognized brands, alongside a team of professional digital strategists and with the best equipment and technology available.


Valued Skills:

  • Produce thoughtful metrics reports with both analysis and recommendations
  • Support digital marketing strategists
  • Assist in the creation of multifaceted digital content
  • Seek and analyze competitor marketing material and digital content
  • Create and maintain tracking reports of digital marketing efforts
  • Develop new social media campaigns, considering current and planned promotional activities
  • Monitor social channels and respond to feedback, questions, and concerns
  • Provide administrative support to management when required
  • Assist with various office organizational tasks
  • Perform daily receptionist duties such as receive packages
  • Participate in event production and management projects
  • Dream up good, creative ideas for client


Basic Requirements:

  • Background or interest in policy-oriented communications strategy and/or government affairs
  • Mastery of the English language (written and spoken).
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area ideally, but will consider highly qualified candidates located in other area of the U.S. able to maintain EST hours.
  • A sense of humor and a love of tacos, pandas and the occasional dog.


Bonus Points:

  • Familiarity with public policy and ability to “get smart” quick on various issues.
  • Experience with project management programs like Monday.com and Asana.
