Description

Our San Luis Obispo office is currently looking for a full-time Payroll Specialist to join our Accounting department. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for payroll processing, wage and hour compliance, and payroll reporting in compliance with state and federal law. We’re eager to learn more about your qualifications and interest in joining our team.


This position is expected to:

• Process semi-monthly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees.

• Process prevailing wage payroll and related compliance paperwork.

• Review timecards for accuracy and required approvals.

• Keep up to date on all payroll laws, including prevailing wage.

• Keep up to date on all RRM policies that concern payroll and timekeeping.

• Reconcile Payroll with Quarterly and Yearly tax filings including W2s.

• Assist with all 401(k) and worker compensation audits.

• Responsible for payroll reporting in compliance with state and federal laws.

• A/P & A/R and other accounting work as assigned by Controller.


Requirements
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience.
  • Associates Degree in Accounting, preferred.
  • Knowledge of Paylocity Software, preferred.
  • Knowledge of prevailing wage, preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to quickly analyze problems and respond with effective solutions.
