Adjunct Instructor - School of Education

Greenville University is seeking dynamic instructors, who wish to teach part-time, serving our thriving School of Education.  We are looking for course instructors (on-line and face to face), Facilitators for workshops, Supervisors for Student Teaching, Clinical mentors and Capstone Readers.

We are seeking potential a colleague who:

  • Is dedicated to undergraduate or graduate teaching. 
  • Is interested in working with student teachers, cooperating teachers, and partnering schools.
  • Is committed to serve as a role model for students within an academic community with a distinctively Christian mission.  
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to liberal arts education.
  • Has an active and vibrant Christian faith.
  • Holds advanced degree and extensive experience in the field of Education.
  • Holds a teacher certification.
  • Has a record of excellent teaching. 
  • Has a willingness to work with pre-service teacher candidates. 
  • Demonstrates a cooperative, collegial spirit. 



  • The adjunct instructor positions would consist of teaching appropriate courses in our School of Education for which the person is appropriately credentialed and has the requisite professional experience.
  • Candidates must be passionate about teaching and preparing future teachers and committed to serving as a role model for students within a Christian academic community.

  • Preferred Qualifications: 

Seeking dynamic instructors committed to Christian Higher Education in a liberal arts context. These individuals should hold a master’s degree plus significant teaching experience in one of the sub-fields of Education.  


The School of Education (SOE) has more than 300 students enrolled in a traditional undergraduate program, four partnership programs, MAT, and MAE programs.  The school offers majors in elementary education, special education, early childhood education, physical education, music education, and seven additional secondary education programs. The SOE also partners with community colleges and universities that do not offer 4-year teacher education programs to provide the experiences and course work necessary to earn a bachelor's degree and licensure to teach in the State of Illinois. These Undergraduate Teacher Education Partnership (UTEP) programs are offered at Kaskaskia College (Centralia, IL), Lewis and Clark Community College (Godfrey, IL), Lincoln Christian University (Lincoln, IL), and Southwestern Illinois College (Belleville, IL). The SOE was accredited by the Illinois State Board of Education with no weaknesses (using NCATE standards) and serves as a model for other teacher education programs in the state of Illinois. The SOE also has national TEAC accreditation through CAEP.
