Description

The Charleston Convention Complex Internship offers participants an opportunity to work in aspects of hospitality, sports and entertainment facilities across a broad range of arena, auditorium and convention center business components, including but not limited to financial, project sourcing, marketing, digital and social media, public relations & communications, facility operations, and event management. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to developing market overviews of events, research and data collection on prospective events, compiling event expenses and financial data and an introduction to the booking and live event planning processes. 


Throughout the internship, participants will gain a thorough understanding on how events transition from the booking pipeline to the contracting phase, into marketing and operations. Interns will also collaborate with other departments, including food & beverage, security, engineering and the executive management team in order to best understand the facility management and live event industry.


Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Research and compile demographic information for various markets
  • Assist in the creation and tracking of marketing plans, event requirements, contracts, fan engagement
  • Assist with event development strategies and analysis of in-house produced events and activities
  • Collaborate with team to improve operational efficiency for the venue.
  • Participate in group conference calls 
Requirements

 Requirements

  • GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strategic and independent mindset
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage time and multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Strong verbal and communication skills
  • Passionate about hospitality, sports or live entertainment industry
  • Open to students of all majors
