Aerial Adventure Park Rangers at A-Basin deliver a fun, informative and safe environment for guests using the Aerial Adventure Park utilizing clear verbal communication, knowledge of the equipment and the park, and following all training guidelines.


Rangers are eligible for a staging program which relates to applicable rate of pay based on their ability to pass in house trainings and their ability understand and perform specific Aerial Adventure Park rescue techniques.

Essential Responsibilities:

Park Ranger I:

Starting Pay: $13.25 per hour

  • Performs daily morning set up procedures and end of day close procedures.
  • Checks guests into the activity and upon guests’ completion of their park experience assists them with checking out.
  • Fits harnesses for guests and supervises the guest use of all personal safety equipment during park use.
  • Conducts pre-course informative safety talk and demo and assists guests with proper safety training.
  • Assesses each guest’s ability to use park after completing ground school.
  • Educates guests on the natural surroundings and information about A-Basin at appropriate intervals of guest’s experience in the park.
  • Assists with maintaining overall park facility and equipment including daily cleaning, inspections, and proper storing of equipment.
  • Interacts closely with guest services, summer patrol, base area and all other A-Basin operations to provide a quality guest experience
  • Other duties as assigned

Park Ranger II: Performs all stage 1 responsibilities in addition to the following:


Starting Pay: $13.75 per hour

  • Performs daily morning course inspections and safety protocols including completing required written logs.
  • Facilitates the park start platform informing guests about the different trails, ensuring that they are properly clipped in and harnessed before starting.
  • Engages with guests in park, encouraging and verbally assisting guests as they travel through the trails.
  • Works at heights with the use of fall protection.
  • After required training, understands and performs park rescue operations in accordance with training manuals and guidelines including stabilizing, moving and lowering of participant.
  • Assists with maintaining equipment including inventory in addition to other equipment maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned



Park Ranger III: Performs all of Stage 1 & 2 duties in addition to the following:


Starting Pay: $14.75 per hour.

  • Leads morning daily set up and end of day tear down of all park operations including plaza.
  • Acts as a start platform leader responsible for overall park communication within ranger staff about trail status, closures, and weather monitoring.
  • Assists with monthly course inspections.
  • Occasionally serves as the opener and/or closer person for park
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements

Experience Requirements:

  • Previous customer service experience and passion to engage with people.
  • Must successfully complete required, site specific training course(s).

Education Requirements:

  • Stage II & III Rangers must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Skills Required:

  • Strong verbal communication skills required for guest interaction.
  • Strong public speaking ability and comfortability with large groups.
  • Adept at problem solving to quickly identify issues and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to guide and teach people through an experience. - required to demonstrate these skills during interview process.

Physical Requirements:

  • Use full range of body motion: bend, twist, kneel, push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand and walk for 8 hours.
  • Withstand high altitude conditions at all times.
  • Stage II and III Rangers must also have the ability to lift most or all of their own body weight while climbing and balancing on obstacles up to 70 feet in the air.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays.

Work Environment:

  • You will work almost 100% of the time outdoors in a high-altitude environment. Most work is performed in a highly trafficked area in view of guests. A very frequent amount of high-volume guest interaction is involved in this role. Exposure to heights is very frequent. Physically engaging with guests in rescue or other applicable situations is required.
