Position/Title: Part-Time Primary School French and Spanish Teacher

We are seeking a dynamic and talented teacher for our Grades K -4 French and Spanish program, which serves K-2 students in our language exposure program and 3-4 students in our grammar and language study program. The K-4 program lays the foundation for students to begin formal language study in Chinese, French, or Spanish at Level I beginning in Grade 5. The ideal teacher is inspired to spur the program forward. She or he emphasizes the use of the target language in class, is able to differentiate instruction based on learning styles, and uses a variety of assessment strategies. She or he will also need to collaborate with World Language teachers across divisions and participate in the implementation of an articulated language curriculum. This is a part-time position of approximately 50- 60%.
Duties and responsibilities include:
The successful candidate has native or near-native proficiency and experience teaching French and Spanish at the primary level. She or he ideally holds an advanced degree in French or Spanish (e.g., language, literature, pedagogy, etc.), possesses excellent English writing and speaking skills, and has basic information technology and computer skills. Previous experience teaching girls is helpful but not required, as is previous experience in a private educational setting. A passion for working with Primary School students is essential.
