Summary: The primary responsibilities for the Staff Accountant will include daily and monthly accounting for multiple entities rolling up to Merchants Bancorp.
Expected Outcomes: A successful Staff Accountant will be able to read and understand the financial statements for Merchants Bancorp, dig in to and understand the business, research issues as they arise, become a resource for SEC inputs, and support the department with technical knowledge and analytical skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Day to day and month-end accounting for multiple entities
• Monthly account reconciliation preparation and account reconciliation review.
• Preparation and understanding of high-level accounting to provide overall accounting support for Merchants Bancorp.
• Ability to learn CSI accounting/banking system, as well as build queries and reports within CSI, will aide in departmental successes.
Expected Experience, Skills and Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Banking or mortgage banking experience preferred
• 2 years prior accounting experience preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite with advanced knowledge of Excel required.
• Flexibility, professionalism, and attention to detail required
