Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, the Coordinator of Stewardship provides leadership and direction for the design, implementation, and coordination of donor-centered acknowledgement, recognition and stewardship processes and procedures. This position seeks to enhance relationships and engagement between donors and The Association of Former Students.
- Ensure the creation and distribution of donor acknowledgement letters, receipts, and recognition items and manage the entire gift acknowledgement process with efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Drive innovation through the refinement of existing gift acknowledgement and donor recognition policies and procedures, including the implementation of new processes to efficiently and effectively thank donors to The Association.
- Incorporate industry best practices in donor recognition and stewardship into the design, implementation, and execution of a comprehensive stewardship plan to inspire deepened donor engagement and long-term donor investment in The Association.
- Develop tracking methods to monitor the effectiveness of recognition and stewardship efforts, including procedures involved in the execution of gift acknowledgements.
- Assist in planning and executing special events designed to strengthen and expand relationships with donors, including, but not limited to, Diamond Century Club stewardship event and “Thank a donor" day.
- Facilitate positive and long-lasting relationships through exceptional customer service to all visitors, volunteers, and donors by appropriately handling customer questions and concerns.
- Collaborate with Association departments (i.e., Information Systems, Gift Processing, Marketing, Communications) to improve standard operating procedures, increase efficiency in processes, and create stewardship opportunities designed to improve donor engagement and retention.
- Work on special projects as needed and assigned by Vice President for Development, Director of Annual Giving, Coordinator of Annual Giving, and other Development staff members.
- Oversee and manage the Gift Recognition team, including the hiring, onboarding, and continued professional development of direct reports.
- Assist the Director of Annual Giving and Vice President for Development in creating an annual Gift Recognition budget and monitoring expenditures on a monthly basis.
- Oversee the ordering process and maintenance of recognition items and supplies, such as decals, year bars, luggage tags, receipts, letterhead, and envelopes.
- Perform related duties as required.
Secondary Functions: Participates and provides input on various Association-wide activities which may include:
- Actively contributing to efforts to achieve donor growth goal.
- Providing on-site event support for Board and Leadership Council Meetings.
- Participation on internal event and task committees.
- Participation in Association events including, but not limited to, All-Aggie Grad Party, Ring Delivery, Reunions, Distinguished Alumni Gala and Game Day events, as needed.
- Represents The Association as needed at events.
Serves as an ambassador for The Association by meeting Team Expectations; supporting The Association’s fundraising, branding, and communications efforts; and fostering relationships with former students, current students, parents, faculty, staff and friends of Texas A&M. Occasional other duties as assigned.

Required: High school diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
Required: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Self-motivated with strong written, verbal and organizational skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, former students, Association employees, and Association leadership in a professional manner. Minimum of three years of general office experience.
Preferred: Supervisory experience.
Required: Ability to operate a keyboard. Frequent use of a computer. Be able to lift 50 lbs.
Required: Working knowledge of standard office equipment.
Required: Basic word processing and spreadsheet skills. Ability to interact with a diverse population, organize multiple projects, and properly manage time. Ability to work some evenings and weekends required.
