USAirports is a family-owned, full service FBO that operates 24/7/365 and serves the general aviation community as a fixed base operator in a state-of-the-art facility on the south side of the Frederick Douglass - Greater Rochester International Airport. USAirports provides a full range of amenities and ground support services such as fueling, hangaring, aircraft maintenance, cargo handling, tie-down, and ramp parking to the personal and corporate tenants of the airport as well as transient aircraft.

Reports To:  Accountable Manager

  

Full Time Hours:  A Shift: 0530 – 1330

                               B Shift: 1300 – 2130


Workdays:  Monday through Friday


Hourly Rate:  $20.00 to $40.00/hr. Based on Experience


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform scheduled, unscheduled, or special inspections in compliance with regulatory authorities and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and perform maintenance and repairs on aircraft, engines and a variety of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components and accessories such as propellers, starters, generators, fuel pumps, hydraulic pumps, actuators, wheels, tires, and brakes.
  • Troubleshoot and perform structural repairs to airframes, including sheet metal work, riveting, patching, and fiberglass/composite work.
  • Perform system troubleshooting and operational and functional checks; service oil, fuel, and hydraulic systems; provides nitrogen and oxygen servicing; inspect and repair pitot static systems and battery services.
  • Make required work order entries for discrepancies and corrective actions.
  • Remove and install aircraft components. Install optional or added equipment to aircraft.
  • Perform aircraft engine run and taxi, as qualified, to test system performance. Participate in maintenance test flights for system performance, troubleshooting and alignment.
  • Understand the operation of various airframe and power plant systems.
  • Ensure the calibration of all shop test equipment is accurate by using shop calibration records and procedures and report discrepancies to management.
  • Assist and train other technicians in repair of systems, structures and engines when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Required documentation: valid Driver’s License, birth certificate and/or passport.
  • Able to pass a 10-year background check, receive and maintain an airport security badge. 
  • **Must be able to acquire a customs seal through Customs and Border Patrol
  • Able to successfully complete pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screens
  • Excellent dependability, communication, and professionalism required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and shifts, including holidays and weekends.
  • Have a broad knowledge of and experience with the maintenance of aircraft of the class, category and type authorized.
  • Hold an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Able to work in a fast-paced work environment with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including bending at the waist and knees, standing, sitting, squatting, kneeling, crawling, and twisting for extended amounts of time. 
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. from floor to waist level. 
  • Must be able and willing to work in elevated environments over 12 feet.
  • Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Ability to wear PPE (personal protective equipment) such as ear protection, safety glasses, gloves, high visibility clothing when required. 
  • This is an airport environment with duties both indoor and outdoor. 
  • Certain functions may be performed in varying weather and environmental conditions such as precipitation, extreme temperatures, jet engine fumes, dust, and noise. Tasks are performed inside and outside near stationary and moving aircraft (including spinning propellers and engines).
