Description

Supports the goals and objectives of Ed Herrington, Inc. through adherence to company policies, safety guidelines, and work requirements for successful completion of all assignments.


Acts as a public representative of Ed Herrington, Inc.. Maintains a professional image and disposition while displaying teamwork and courtesy in performance of all duties.


Works to maintain harmony and workflow between EHI departments and the Stone & Masonry internal functions.


Participates in recommending, planning, organizing, and implementing strategies and projects for developing and growing the Stone & Masonry business.


Understands and executes priority of duties:  1) customers in the yard and warehouse, 2) loading of delivery trucks, and 3) unloading of delivery trucks.  All other tasks are subordinate to these priorities unless otherwise directed.


Carries a working radio at all times and acknowledges radio calls to the yard or warehouse. Other equipment to be carried include tape measure, wire cutter, damaged product tally sheet, shrink wrap, and other necessary daily tools on assigned machine in an organized/neat manner.


Greets and assists customers coming to yard & warehousing areas to receive purchased product; assists in locating or identifying products.


Reviews invoice ticket information of all customers in the yard & warehouse to ensure selection of proper materials.  Handles and processes sales orders and invoice tickets in the prescribed manner.


Assists customers in loading purchased materials into customer’s vehicle.


Directs customers to additional pickup stations as necessary to complete order.


Assists customers by performing sales function as needed including processing and invoicing orders/tickets.


Prepares and labels delivery orders and stages orders for loading onto delivery vehicles.


Maintains weekly tally sheets of broken or damaged products and puts damaged products in the prescribed areas.   Notifies supervisor of potential product damage, shortages and outages.  Participates in inventory counting as necessary.


Notifies supervisor of equipment problems & service needs. Keeps assigned machines clean & in good working order.


Performs yard & warehouse maintenance through unloading deliveries, prepping materials, and putting products in assigned areas as well as maintenance of yard, warehouse and showroom for cleanliness and orderliness.  Covers exposed materials, when required, to prevent weather damage.


Picks up debris and damaged products from yard and warehouse as part of daily routine. Maintains outdoor displays as assigned. Notifies supervisor of yard conditions impeding customers, yard operations, delivery operations, or potentially dangerous situations. Recommends improvements.


Maintains clean and safe work area, machines and equipment.


Participates in all required training assignments


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Able to write simple correspondence.  Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients or other employees of the organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Able to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


REASONING ABILITY:  Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Full time, part time, or seasonal position, hours as assigned as in Sunday through Saturday workweek.

Forklift training and demonstrated continuing forklift operation competency required.
