TITLE: Chicago Rents Community Engagement VISTA
REPORTS TO: Senior Program Manager
LOCATION: Chicago, Illinois
About All Chicago:
All Chicago Making Homelessness History (All Chicago) prevents and ends homelessness through four signature approaches: emergency financial assistance, community partnerships, data analytics, and training and research. All Chicago provides the backbone support for a city-wide response to homelessness by partnering with over 40 organizations and leading them through a year-round research, evaluation, strategic planning, and federal funding application process. We provide trainings, workshops, research, and analysis to help our partners apply proven strategies to prevent and end homelessness even more effectively.
The Chicago Rents Community Engagement VISTA will support and expand community engagement activities for Chicago Rents, an initiative to recruit and support Chicago landlords in partnering to end homelessness in Chicago. They will achieve this through community engagement activities and enhance community engagement tools and templates. The AmeriCorps member will also seek community feedback about the program and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
To increase landlord connections and engagement, the AmeriCorps member will plan and execute community engagement events focused on landlord partners, such as webinars and focus groups. The AmeriCorps member will also convene a Landlord Advisory Group to meet monthly to identify and execute networking opportunities within the landlord community, as well as create and manage a monthly landlord newsletter.
The AmeriCorps member will engage with the community through feedback collection and will use data to identify areas for program growth. They will evaluate the Chicago Rents program from the perspective of landlords, participants, and service providers through surveys targeted to each of those three groups. The AmeriCorps member will then develop and execute a response plan. The AmeriCorps member will also evaluate the effectiveness of each community engagement activity through a landlord survey to be completed during landlord onboarding. The AmeriCorps member will then develop a Chicago Rents Community Engagement Blueprint that lays out community engagement activities that have been found to be effective.
The AmeriCorps member will also enhance community engagement tools and templates, such as PowerPoint templates, email templates, phone scripts, brochures, advertising templates, process map, and collection of “success stories.”
