Director of Health Equity Research
Tufts Department of Medicine seeks an innovative investigator to lead the Program in Equity in Science and Health. The research within the Program addresses a broad range of issues focusing on systems interventions to address social determinants of health, and structural determinants to promote health equity and quality of health care by race, ethnicity, sex and gender identity. Faculty in this multidisciplinary program bring diverse expertise and backgrounds in primary care, public health, infectious disease, pulmonary and critical care, rheumatology, pediatrics, hospital medicine and medical sociology.
Our ideal colleague has an established area of research or methodologic focus, and a desire to serve as a mentor to early stage investigators, growing a diverse and dynamic team of investigators.
The Department and hospital provide a wealth of resources to build a successful research team, including internal career development awards and programs, and research infrastructure through Tufts University’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI). Our team has established collaborations across all of the Tufts institutions, including the Schools of Medicine, Graduate Biomedical Sciences, Nutrition, Dental Medicine, Arts and Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine and across multiple clinical and research organizations in the greater Boston area. Tufts Medical Center sits in the heart of urban Boston, and provides clinical care to a broad and diverse group of patients from the multiple communities in Boston.
At Tufts we strive to be a people focused organization where we encourage and support each physician and investigator to pursue their clinical, academic and educational interests.
