Description
The Designer III, Architecture performs within a design team in a self-directed manner across multiple aspects of the Architecture process including but not limited to the design and documentation of all phases, the preparation of materials, and construction administration activities within established budgets, schedules, and programmatic requirements. Project types are primarily focused on the creation of an active ground plane within mixed-use projects and specific tasks may include master planning, concept design, landscape design, retail storefront design, wayfinding, and placemaking.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the team in developing design solutions that meet the client’s needs on time and budget
  • Work independently and/or with the team as needed on creative solutions and documentation through all phases of the design process
  • Work independently and/or with the team as needed on project initiation, site analysis, and the design brief
  • Create graphic formatting and storyboards for client presentations
  • Create narrative descriptions of design criteria and processes
  • Actively supports compliance with BIM/CAD project standards and procedures
  • Participate in presentations that communicate design concepts to the client
  • Coordinate specifications with drawings to meet project requirements
  • Coordinate with consultants and/or other members of the project team
Requirements
  • Bachelor or master’s degree in architecture from an accredited program
  • Five or more years of professional experience, preferably with a strong background in mixed-use and/or retail architecture 
  • Proficiency in Revit and CAD software required
  • Strong graphic and presentation skills in InDesign, Photoshop, and SketchUp required
  • Experience in construction documentation production, project design specifications, and shop drawing review
  • Hand drafting/sketching skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Interest and aptitude for creative problem-solving 
  • Ability to contribute and participate in a highly collaborative team environment
