Description

Dirigo Federal Credit Union is a profitable and fast-growing community credit union headquartered in Lewiston, Maine. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teller in our Lewiston Office. We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, career-minded professional with the vision, passion, and ability for exceeding the expectations of our member-owners. The ideal individual will assist members with their financial transactions involving withdrawals and deposits of cash and checks, and other negotiable instruments. They will be knowledgeable in deposit products and services and feel comfortable offering these to members demonstrated through sales and relationship building skills.


Position Summary

Tellers assist members with basic financial transactions, provide account reconciliation, and direct members to appropriate departments. Tellers are knowledgeable about deposit products and services, and correctly cross-sell products.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Processes members’ financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments; buys/sells money from the vault, and transfers funds between members accounts as directed.

2. Welcomes members and provides routine information concerning services, and directs members to appropriate department for specific information and services.

3. Balances cash drawer and daily transactions.

4. Works to keep overs and shorts to a minimum.

5. Close accounts at members’ request.

6. Assist with opening and closing procedures.

7. Cross-Sell Credit Union services.

8. Performs a variety of tasks including typing, filing, computer input, and answering the phone.



Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED FOR POSITION:

Experience and Skill Requirements: The following experience and skills are considered essential:

• 6 months of similar or related experience.

• Strong member service skills.

• Knowledge of sales and relationship building skills.

• Knowledge and awareness of all credit union products and services.

• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.

• Knowledge of computers.

• Be trustworthy while working with sensitive information

• Dependable- Ability to show up to work daily and on time.

• Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.

• Decision Making - Ability to make critical decisions while following Credit Union procedures.


Education Requirements: The following education requirements are considered essential:

• High School Diploma or GED
