UX/Information Architect

Description

The Role: The UX/Information Architect will manage strategic planning for website projects for a wide array of clients in diverse verticals, focusing primarily on a higher education client in 2018 and 2019.  The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker with a strong background in UX and a passion for creating websites with optimal usability. 


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop strategic information architectures for clients, specifically developing, presenting, and implementing integrated solutions based user research and client feedback
  • Plan and execute user research and analysis, defining users’ needs and objectives through focus groups, interviews, working sessions, surveys, contextual inquiries, and other discovery methods
  • Serve as the user advocate within the project team to ensure all deliverables and efforts align with the recommended user experience
  • Work with UX designers and visual designers throughout the development process to identify content needs and create/recommend content, features, and functionality to support design deliverables
  • Own the following deliverables that establish the vision for the project and guide the user experience: industry/competitor analysis, persona creation, card sorting, heuristics evaluations, sitemaps, navigation testing, content strategy, task flow diagrams, usability testing, and personalization strategy
  • Serve as a UX representative in new business and sales opportunities as needed
  • Lead clients in working sessions to gather details on business requirements 
  • Work collaboratively with ux design, visual design, development, QA, analytics and SEO teams/resources throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintain a working knowledge of key technologies used in our delivery process, as well as emerging trends in user experience
  • Serve as a source of thought leadership in evolving trends, technologies and practices in UX and usability 
  • Identify opportunities offered by Adobe Experience Manager, Sitecore, Drupal, and other technologies that would enhance the value of solutions being delivered
  • Maintain a high level of client satisfaction


Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Visual Communications, Information Architecture, Human-Computer Interaction or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience crafting user experiences and information architectures for clients across various industries
  • Higher ed experience is preferred but not required
  • Excellent understanding of the overarching process of website development (discovery, information architecture,  ux design, visual design, development, testing, and optimization)
  • Proven experience owning key UX tasks and client-facing deliverables, including but not limited to: user interviews/focus groups, stakeholder interviews/focus groups, contextual inquiries, industry/competitor analysis, persona creation, design studios, card sorting, heuristics evaluations, sitemaps, navigation testing, content strategy, content mapping, content evaluation, task flow diagrams, usability testing, and personalization strategy 
  • Deep understanding of usability testing, content strategy and personalization and how they relate to the entire user experience
  • Ability to craft succinct and thoughtful copy written for digital
  • Dedication to growing the UX teams’ knowledge in user experience and user behaviors through seeking and sharing trend data
  • Excellent written, verbal, client service and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience and comfort working directly with clients
  • Experience managing multiple projects with tight deadlines, preferably in a fast-paced agency environment 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Confidence to and passion for advocating for UX and its importance within the agency and external of the agency
