Barista -- Part Time
Description

 

Job Purpose   

  • Process orders in order to create an exceptional customer service experience.  
  • Listen well and communicate in a professional and friendly manner 
  • Focus on customer satisfaction 
  • Practice basic safety procedures with respect to equipment and handling hot beverages 
  • Build good relationships with customers 
  • Maintain a clean work environment 
  • Keep supplies replenished to minimize downtime 

 Responsibilities        

  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service.  Consistently applies all principles of the customer service training.  
  • Greeting customers in a friendly manner and taking food and drink orders 
  • Preparing and serving beverages, ranging from simple to elaborate ones 
  • Preparing and serving food items such as soups, sandwiches and pastries 
  • Answering customers’ questions about menu choices 
  • Promoting and recommending menu options to customers 
  • Taking payment from customers 
  • Maintaining inventory and equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting and scheduling repairs  
  • Keeping the work environment sanitary and organized 
  • Evaluating and modifying processes to improve efficiency and quality of service   
  • Working to attract new customers and expanding the menu 

 

Requirements

 

Educational/Knowledge Requirements:    

  • Strong customer service orientation; ability to demonstrate positive attitude, enthusiasm and professionalism.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills required to effectively communicate with team members and all customers.  
  • Ability to use current technology, including computers.  
  • Ability to solve problems and work independently with minimal supervision.

1.   Strength       Light Work: Exerting up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or                  move objects.
