FUNCTIONS STATEMENT:
Parks and retrieves vehicles by greeting customers; giving directions or driving vehicles to parking spaces; collecting parking fees; protecting vehicles; maintaining the parking lot.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Plans shift work by reviewing available parking spaces.
- Greets customers by welcoming them to the parking lot, explaining fees and requirements, issuing receipts, answering questions.
- Fills parking spaces by providing driving directions to available parking spaces, following lot-fill patterns and sequences, preventing customers from parking were not directed.
- Provides valet service by driving, parking, and retrieving vehicles for customers, securing vehicles, filing keys, driving customers to and from their vehicles.
- Tracks available parking spaces by communicating with other attendants.
- Collects parking fees by calculating fees, taking cash and credit card payments, securing funds, returning keys.
- Maintains parking area by cleaning up debris.
- Protects vehicles by driving carefully, preventing unauthorized access to parking lot and vehicles, calling police to apprehend trespassers.
- Helps customers by reminding them to lock vehicles, jump-starting batteries, assisting with tire changes and lockouts, calling for road service, providing driving instructions from the parking lot.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Assist customers with a handicap(s) by operating the handicap ramp.
- Must be outgoing, professional, and customer service-oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Previous driving experience in a similar vehicle preferred.
- Must be flexible to work any shift, start time, weekends, and holidays

Pay: $12.00 per hour + Tips
FACTOR 1: KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THIS POSITION
- Knowledge of methods in taking care of vehicles.
- Knowledge of tracking keys.
- Knowledge of charges.
- Knowledge of matching parking space numbers with the customer’s ticket.
- Knowledge of computing charges.
- Knowledge of how to make change quickly.
- Knowledge of processing electronic or automated payments.
- Knowledge of how to operate a lockout kit.
- Knowledge of the parking lot layout.
- Knowledge of scheduling methods under stress.
FACTOR 2: SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
- The incumbent is under the direct supervision of the Valet Manager.
- The supervisor assigns work, advises on changes in procedures, and is available for assistance when required.
- Routine work is performed independently following set procedures
- The work is reviewed for accuracy through spot checks, complaints from customers, and observation of the employee at work.
FACTOR 3: GUIDELINES
- Written and oral guides provide specific instructions for doing the work.
- Most of these instructions are easily memorized and require little interpretation.
- When instructions do not apply, the problem is referred to the supervisor.
- These guidelines are generally applicable, but the employee makes adjustments in dealing with problems and unusual situations.
FACTOR 4: COMPLEXITY
- The complexity level ranges from a low level to medium that involves English grammar skills to making proper and accurate changes.

- The primary purpose of the work is to provide a quality, pleasant experience to guests and customers in a pleasant atmosphere with the fewest distractions possible.
- This work contributes to the satisfaction of the customer and promotes a positive image for the Citizen Potawatomi Nation as a successful entrepreneur.
FACTOR 6: PERSONAL CONTACTS
- Contacts are on a face-to-face basis with guests and customers from all walks of life and from all points of the country and world.
FACTOR 7: PURPOSE OF CONTACTS
- The purpose of the contacts is to create a satisfied customer so as to encourage a high level of customer returns.
FACTOR 8: PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Standing for long periods of time, extensive walking back and forth between vehicles and the valet driveway.
- Considerable bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping.
- Exercises extensive dexterity and balance.
- Exercises repetitive motions, hearing/sound discrimination, and visual acuity.
FACTOR 9: WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work will be predominately outside where the temperatures may range from extreme cold to extremely hot, dry, and wet conditions.
OTHER CHARACTERISTICS REQUIRED
- Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Must have basic math skills and cash handling skills
- Must have very good communication and writing skills
- Availability to work any shift, start time, weekends, and holidays
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
