CrossFit Precision Care is a new healthcare offering for the CrossFit community, by doctors and health coaches who take a different approach to health - rooted in lifestyle, longevity, data and optimization.  Care is delivered to cohorts of patients by pods, each comprised of a Physician, Health Coaches, and a Care Coordinator.


General Job Description:

CrossFit Precision Care Health Coaches have the responsibility of providing support and accountability for patients as they take steps to better transform their health. The position will require a self-motivated individual who is passionate about helping others live a healthy lifestyle. The ideal hire will also have communication skills that include active listening and motivational interviewing. The candidate that will be a great fit for us will be able to quickly and effectively learn and use online health care platforms.


Precision Medicine training is required and you can check out a couple of courses found online. If you are interested in working with us, we highly recommend Wild Health's Precision Medicine course as many of the Health Coaches that we've hired have come from our Fellowship Program.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish a personal relationship with patients and help them implement their personalized health plan 
  • Communicate frequently and in a timely manner with patients through messaging, phone and video consults
  • Understand the impact of nutrition, exercise, sleep, and stress on health and strategies for optimizing these lifestyle factors 
  • Understand precision medicine, available health tests, and commonly used supplements
  • Utilize active listening, motivational interviewing, problem solving, and accountability to help patients change habits and alter lifestyle for long-lasting health changes
  • Locate and provide resources for patients to assist with health behavior change
  • Document patient visits 
  • Communicate with the Physician and Care Coordinator in your pod, utilizing a team approach to patient care

Minor Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with other Health Coaches and staff
  • Research and incorporate new tools and techniques in the health, fitness, and precision medicine 

Meet the Team:

As a Health Coach, you will need the help of a few key members to provide care to clients.

  • Care Coordinator – This role acts as a manager for the pod. Look to your Care Coordinator to assist in your needs as an employee. The Care Coordinator also interacts with patients, primarily in the first weeks after signup. The Care Coordinator also takes care of ordering most major tests the patient may need.
  • Physician – This role provides medical care for our patients, including diagnosing and treating acute and chronic medical conditions, ordering and reviewing labs and tests, and providing referrals.

A Day in the Life:

Health Coaches have a variety of tasks that they are responsible for carrying out each day. Health Coaches conduct Coaching Calls, in which they get to know their patients and assist them in implementing personalized health plans. They also prepare for and attend Initial Medical Consults with patients and their Physician where a personalized health plan is developed. Additionally, Health Coaches prepare for and attend Follow Up visits with patients and their Physician where follow up testing is reviewed and health plans are modified.  Health Coaches frequently message with patients using a HIPAA-compliant service. Health Coaches work closely with the Care Coordinator to ensure patients receive and complete all necessary testing and appropriate follow up care. Health Coaches work closely with the Physician to make sure all tests are reviewed and necessary medications, supplements and interventions are implemented.


Requirements


  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Precision Medicine training
  • CF-L1 Trainer
  • Actively participating in CrossFit
  • 1:1 Coaching Experience (training, nutrition, etc)
  • CrossFit Nutrition 1 Course
  • Personal computer/ability to work remotely 
  • Ability to complete some training prior to full time start date (a few hours/week)
  • Background in Health or Medical field preferred
  • Proficient in Excel and Word
