SUMMARY: Under general direction from the Payroll Manager, the payroll specialist prepares the weekly payroll for processing by our third-party payroll provider. The payroll specialist is responsible for all contingent employees for all TalentBridge locations and for the full cycle payroll functions and activities necessary to accomplish the organization’s payroll processing objectives. This role will also drive and/or support ongoing programs and new initiatives and be the point of contact for all employee pay related questions by responding in a timely and sensitive manner. Must have in-depth knowledge and experience of customer service, be able to express empathy, and communicate effectively, with both a positive and friendly attitude at all times, in both verbal and written communications. The majority of time is spent planning, coordinating the functions of payroll processing. This position requires an extremely detail-orientated person with significant knowledge of payroll administration, including state and federal regulations.
JOB RESULTS AND KEY ACTIVITIES:
Accurately Processed Payroll
A. Executes daily and weekly tasks to deliver on the execution of the entire payroll cycle in compliance with external regulations and internal policies. This includes, but is not limited to: adjustments for levy/garnishments, sick pay, holiday pay, taxable fringe benefits, etc. Reconciles and reviews payroll prior to transmission and validates reports.
B. Reconciles timecard information across multiple systems.
C. Provide customer service to employees and ensure compliance with all internal policies and procedures.
D. Responds to inquiries regarding pay calculations, corrections to pay as needed, issuing manual checks, problem research and resolution, etc.
E. Assist Accounts Payable with entering invoices into the system for payment.
F. Participates in design and implementation of best practice in accordance with company policies.
G. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned or as responsibilities dictate.
Payroll & Timekeeping Systems Issues Resolved
A. Maintains a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of the payroll software. Provides guidance and cross-training to other designated personnel to ensure his/her abilities allow for immediate assumption of payroll processing responsibilities in the event of illness, vacation, etc.
Education and Experience:
Associates Degree in Accounting or Business plus three (3) years of experience working in a payroll role delivering end-to-end payroll processing requirements; or equivalent combination required.
