ESL Instructor: Part-Time
Description

The University Pathways (UP) at Greenville University is an intensive English program that prepares international students to successfully meet the language proficiency requirements and to thrive in American academic institutions. UP is currently accepting applications for English as a Second Language (ESL) part time instructors for current and anticipated enrollment. These part time instructor positions are considered on an as-needed basis. Candidates are expected to teach ESL to adult learners at Foundation through Advanced levels, and provide administrative support including program development, orientation, and registration, among other duties. 


Requirements

Duties:

  • Set up assigned course(s) by the first day of class.
  • Design the assigned course structure based on designated textbook(s).
  • Teach the assigned course(s) following the UP Curriculum Guide and using the Template Syllabi. • 
  • Follow and practice ALI policies/regulations. •
  • Attend all UP faculty meetings and participate in other field activities, etc. that occur during assigned working hours. 
  • Contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Dedicate oneself to a student-centered education.

Qualifications:

  • Has a B.A. or M.A. in English as a second language, or closely related field. • 
  • Is enthusiastic, flexible, professional and responsible.
  • Has ESL teaching experience.
  • Has good verbal and written communication skills. • 
  • Is able to motivate students and make learning accessible and stimulating. 
  • An understanding and appreciation of Christian higher education
