Texas Research Institute (TRI) Austin is a small business with a 40 year history as a first class materials science applied research and development firm is seeking an Engineer/Scientist.
A successful candidate should be actively involved in developing ultrasonic inspections of metallic and composites components.
A degree in Engineering, Physics or similar is required to support research and development efforts. Experience and expertise are required in ultrasonic testing and experimentation including developing and interpreting inspection results and datasets (experience developing and testing InspectionWare or Winspect workspaces is highly desired). Experience in additional non-destructive evaluation methods (such as eddy current testing) is highly desired. Experience using CAD software and data analysis and visualization is a plus.
A successful candidate will be responsible for developing, directing, interpreting, and performing experimental work on materials/test objects to validate inspection methods. In addition, a successful candidate will be expected to transition into a scientist role, which will include identification of external funding and writing proposals to win contracts.

M.S. or Ph.D. level or comparable experience in a technical field is preferred, undergraduate degrees will be considered.
