This position will be based in our office in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. Verato offers a comprehensive compensation package that includes year-end bonuses, extra vacation time, and other benefits that go well beyond the standard.
As a Senior Scrum Master you will primarily oversee one or more development scrum teams. You will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and developing the scrum Agile team members in the scrum methodology. This position will be based out of our Development Center in Merida, Mexico.
Other responsibilities will include, among others, ensuring the team is focused, requirements are clear, blockers are removed, estimates and planning is done accurately, and the team takes ownership of meeting its sprint objectives. You will monitor the scrum processes and facilitate scrum meetings. Additionally, the Scrum Master will work with the Product Owner to ensure that he/she is well integrated into the team’s operations so that we can optimize the flow of value from his/her team to our customers. This means ensuring that the backlog is properly groomed and prioritized and ensuring that technical decisions for both Development and DevOps happen swiftly and with the right inputs.
As a Senior Scrum Master, you will have a primary focus on enabling the team to deliver value to our customers. In order to do so, you will also be expected to understand and help advocate for adoption of new technologies and processes aimed at optimizing our operations, including the continuous enhancement of our security and compliance posture.
This Senior Scrum Master position has the potential to expand his/her responsibilities, after a year or so, to also act as the head figure for the Merida Development Center. In that capacity, he/she would have added responsibilities for broader office needs such as participating in recruiting activities, representing Verato with external parties, removing blockers impeding the smooth operation of the Veramex Development Center, organizing/promoting office wide events, and general mentoring and guidance of the staff.
