Aerothermodynamics Analyst

U.S. Citizenship Required. Ability to qualify for a US Department of Defense security clearance required.

Toyon is seeking an Aerothermodynamics Analyst to join a team designing mechanical prototypes of reentry bodies and related configurations. This position requires a strong background in the application of materials to the design of articles subjected to high temperature environments. This individual will play a key role in the development of the design of aerospace vehicles and evaluation of their performance.

The ideal candidate for the Aerothermodynamics Analyst position will have the following experience, skills, and growth path ambitions:

  • B.S. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (M.S. preferred) with emphasis on heat transfer, mechanical design, and structural analysis and five years of experience.
  • Experience with predicting aerothermal heating in supersonic/hypersonic environments, including the response of thermal protection materials to aerothermal environments.
  • Experience using a variety of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and phenomenologically based boundary layer and inviscid flow codes is a strong plus.

The annual pay range for the Aerothermodynamics Analyst position is $100,000 to $170,000.

The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on annual base compensation for the position, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives. Toyon Research Corporation will consider the individual candidate’s education, work experience, applicable knowledge, skills and training, among other factors, when preparing an offer of employment.
