The floating substitute plays an important role in Clarke’s preschool program by ensuring that students are cared for in a safe and enriching learning environment in the absence of the classroom teacher or assistant. As needed, and if no classroom staff are absent, the floating substitute will assist in different classrooms throughout the day that may need more support, supervision of children, bathroom assistance, or other related activities.
