Outside Sales Representative
Description

Immediate opening for a skilled, proven performer in sales of lumber and building materials to contractor customers.  Sales are focus in NorthWest Connecticut and surrounding areas to proactively provide profitable sales growth through maintenance of strong relationships with current established accounts, increased sales to current accounts, cold calling initiation of new accounts and develop relationships, & cooperative interaction with all EHI support departments.


Base weekly salary plus commission and sales goal bonus.  Vehicle, phone, laptop provided.


Develops list of prospective customers through lead generation processes, reviewing company accounts and consulting business associates.


Calls on prospects to explain features of services, costs and advantages.  Responds quickly to customer needs with complete and accurate information.


Manages assigned accounts for Ed Herrington, Inc. profitability.  Assists credit manager with credit issues in order to safeguard our financial interests in any given project.


Works with customers/company officials to investigate/resolve complaints/discrepancies on product or services.


Promotes and sells in all Herrington’s  product group areas i.e. paint, Kitchen & Bath, countertops, etc.. 


Participates in and contributes to discussions of quality improvements to our approach to customer service.


Maintains customer data records.


Prepares sales budget for the upcoming fiscal year by customer, product group and gross profit expectation.


Submits sales forecast reports as requested and required by supervisor and senior management.


Attends trade shows, sales meetings, and builder/customer events as required.


Participates in all required training assignments. Works towards CBMS Certification.


Displays teamwork and effort in performance of all duties.


Supports the goals and objectives of Ed Herrington, Inc. through adherence to company policies, safety guidelines, and work requirements for successful completion of all assignments.



Requirements

Regular, full time.  Hours as assigned and needed in Sunday – Saturday work week.

Requires valid drivers’ license and ability to drive in a safe and responsible manner.  Clean MVR check by Ed 

     Herrington policy requirements.

Must be proficient in ability to use and understand Spruce POS systems.  

Must be able to use available millwork software, i.e. Anderson, Marvin, etc.

Requires advance knowledge of engineered wood design and products.

Independent position requiring minimal supervision.

Participate in an active role in at least one civic, charitable or volunteer organization approved by Supervisor.
