The Senior Accountant will be responsible for accounting tasks for clients assigned within the department in a cost-effective and professional manner including, but not limited to, computer-compiled financial statement engagements, outsourced Controller services, QuickBooks support, and payroll tax/sales tax reporting issues.

Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities of a Senior Accountant:

  • Assist with individualized accounting issues
  • Bank reconciliations, account analyses, general journal entries as needed
  • Preparation of necessary file workpapers with emphasis on neatness as well as accurate documentation 
  • Maintain up-to-date fixed asset schedules
  • Compile computer-generated financials, with focus on more complex engagements
  • Perform review of financial information reflected in statements for reasonableness
  • Provide assistance/guidance with QuickBooks or other software maintained by clients
  • Analyze/review financial statements “pbc” for reasonableness
  • Quarterly payroll tax reports, W-2 and 1099 annual preparation
  • Monthly, quarterly or annual sales tax returns
  • Annual business tax returns: corporate, partnership or Schedule C
  • Individual income tax returns
  • Nonprofit and retirement plan tax returns
  • Perform tax research on technical matters

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent 
  • 3-5 years of experience - preferably in public accounting 


  • Possesses a strong attention to detail and high quality standards.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize assigned activities to achieve tasks in a timely manner.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple assignments, projects, and responsibilities simultaneously while producing accurate, timely results.
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, along with excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to identify and discuss issues and present workable solutions in a simple, meaningful, and focused manner with all levels of employees.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows based programs: Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to interface with a variety of management levels.

  • Valid Drivers License
