Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence (BBBSI) is the largest BBBS agency in the state and fourth largest in the nation. Our mission is to ignite the power and promise of youth and close the mentoring gap, by creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships and strengthening the quality of the mentoring field.
Reporting to the Director of Individual & Institutional Giving, the Coordinator of Alumni & Volunteer Relations is a critical member of the team responsible for the successful meeting & event execution and fundraising associated with BBBSI’s external volunteer and advisory groups, including but not limited to the Agency’s five regional advisory boards (Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties and Southern New Jersey), and alumni association. BBBSI is seeking a fundraising professional to help plan sustainable growth, and work with senior leadership and key stakeholders to identify new revenue, support fundraising efforts in each of the geographic regions, grow membership, identify recruitment opportunities and spearhead & expand third party events led by these groups with one of the country’s leading BBBS agencies.
Candidates with a strong connection to the community that BBBS Independence serves and the Southeastern Pennsylvania/Southern New Jersey area are given preferential consideration. Moderate travel to branch offices, community and mission partners is required, as is some nights and weekend work.
Administration & Coordination
1. Oversee, Coordinate and, align standard practices for 5 Regional Advisory Boards (RABs), ensuring growth and effective engagement
2. Oversee, Coordinate, and align standard practices for the Alumni Association and other volunteer opportunities such as the community care package drive, ensuring growth and effective engagement.
1. In conjunction with the Director of Individual & Institutional Giving and Manager of Annual Fund, strategize and lead fundraising efforts that align with each volunteer group.
2. Oversee the donation process, tracking and acknowledgement for the funds received from third party fundraising events
3. Maintain assigned Indyforce records and campaigns.
Academic Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or 2 to 4 years experience
Professional Requirements: Ability to work with many diverse constituencies. It is crucial that the successful candidate have experience managing volunteers, working with and building boards, and/or other committee management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor CRM packages required (Salesforce preferred). Must have daily and dependable access to a car, valid driver's license, and meet State-required automobile insurance minimums.
