GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Responsible for the installation of custom flatworks in granite, quartz, marble, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enforces / Follows all CRF Safety Procedures and CRF Driving Policy’s.
  • Fits all horizontal and vertical seams to the company standards.
  • Sets tops as close as practical to the same plane as the cabinets including cooktops.
  • Supports top every 4 to 6 inches at sink and cook top fronts as well as any gap 1/16” between top and cabinet.
  • Uses gorillas or clamps to pull seams to max of 1/16” opening at top.
  • Use Color Matched adhesive in all seams if possible.
  • Understand how to add color to the glue to make a seam blend better. Chameleon is not a fix all for all colors.
  • Polish/Blend the profiles of any seam to a smooth consistent finish. Remember to feather out the polish out so the tops do not have a dip.
  • Verify that all seams are checked for flatness with a razor blade before the seam is completely dry.
  • Large (Heavy)under mount sinks are supported with a wood frame and sealed to the tops with a Solid Bead of silicone.
  • Small (Light)under mount sinks are supported with “Clips”.
  • Sinks are to include a “Beauty” bead of silicone between the sink and stone after it is mounted to keep any water out.
  • Top of Splash is caulked to the wall with paintable when noted.
  • Splash is caulked on all vertical and horizontal joints. Seams are to set with Integra or knife grade(2 Part) glue.
  • Tops are caulk to cabinets and walls at the end of the runs. Applies solid bead of silicone sealant where needed.
  • Tops have a consistent overhang, except where cabinets do not allow.
  • Drop Cloths and vacuums are used when performing field cutouts inside to minimize dust and debris.
  • Field cutouts are conducted at the end of the install.
  • Jobsite is thoroughly cleaned and inspected, both inside and outside, prior to leaving.
  • Submits Octane before leaving the jobsite.
  • Submits Supply requests to keep trucks stocked at all times.
  • All pieces returned to the shop are clearly marked and/or Labeled.
  • Must wear steal toe boots at all times.
  • Must wear hard hat and fluorescent shirt/vest at all commercial sites.
  • Take Pictures of the finished jobsite. Overall, Seams, Sinks and any potential issues.
  • Ability to cut, edge polish, cut notches, cut outlets, cutout blanks, all without damaging the final product.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will supervise installation Helpers.

KEY ABILITIES/EXPERIENCE

  • Two to four years related training
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customer, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Requires physical activities on a regular basis; Stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, handling and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to use specialty equipment to get countertops into jobsite and lifted into place.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Indoors in a non-temperature controlled environment and outdoors exposed to changing weather condition.
