Senior Systems Engineer (Ref #1706-E)

Toyon is seeking a Senior Engineer or Scientist with practical experience and understanding in the physics of electronic sensors and devices as well as electronics and electronic design. The candidate should have a strong understanding of dynamics and a practical understanding of estimation theory, including Kalman filter design. A working knowledge of both signal processing techniques and control systems design is required. 



This position requires either a minimum of five years of experience and a Master’s, or Ph.D. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline. 

Practical knowledge in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:

· Kinematics, dynamics, and/or robotic systems

· Inertial navigation systems 

· Inertial sensors, including gyroscopes and accelerometers

· GNSS/GPS signal processing

· Radio-frequency (RF) systems

· Communication systems

Familiarity with antenna and antenna array signal processing techniques will be very advantageous. Applicant should have experience with MATLAB, SIMULINK, C, C++, as well as familiarity with Python and a willingness to learn new tools as needed.

The position will involve working on various projects including GPS-aided and GPS-denied navigation systems; vision-aided navigation systems; inertial measurement system design, test and demonstration; electronic design requirements generation; unmanned systems design and control; communication systems; as well as radar systems.

U.S. Citizenship Required. Ability to qualify for a US Department of Defense security clearance required.
