Mechanical Foreman
Description

Columbia Pulp is looking for a Mechanical Foreman to join our small, but growing company. This individual will participate as a working leader for the Maintenance Department Mechanical Crew. They will also maintain Mechanical Crew work schedule, train and lead crew members on Columbia Pulp culture, values and continuing craft education. The ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership qualities, work ethic and must be able to build a team that can perform work safely.

Requirements

Duties:


Daily: (90%)

  • Attend planning meetings with Maintenance Manager and Planner to provide input to the Daily schedule
  • Assign Mechanical resources for daily tasks
  • Perform Pre-Job brief and safety discussions with Mechanical crews
  • Perform Preventative, Predictive and Corrective Maintenance task
  • Provide daily progress reports on work completed, ongoing and needs

Other Duties: (10%)

  • Assist in Department Training program development
  • Provide input and feedback for Mechanical Maintenance strategies and plans
  • Order and Maintain calibrated electrical and instrumentation tools
  • Provide training to other staff as necessary
  • Work with engineering on troubleshooting and diagnostics of Mechanical and Structural equipment
  • All other duties as assigned


Shift Work:


This position will oversee the crew that supports both the Lyons Ferry Plant in Starbuck, WA and the Pomeroy Pilot Plant in Pomeroy, WA. Both plants operate 24/7 and require support around the clock. The Mechanical Foreman will at times be required to work rotating shift when needed and be available to take off shift trouble calls.


Requirements:

  • Advanced level Mechanical skills and abilities in one or more of the following areas: Diesel Mechanics, Ag Mechanics, Pipefitting, Boilermaker, Millwright, Industrial Mechanics or similar related field
  • Strong Ethical Qualities
  • Must hold Safety as a personal value
  • Strong Leadership Qualities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in team-building, training, and leadership in a Construction or Industrial Maintenance setting
  • Ability to direct and maintain a multi-person work schedule
