Description

RINA Accountants & Advisors is growing its Advisory Services department. The person in this role will work directly with the head of the department to bring excellent client service to a variety of clients across industries.

The Accounting & Financial Analyst will utilize both accounting and finance skills to serve clients on a wide variety of projects. Communication and the ability to organize and prioritize one’s own time are critical factors for success.


In this position you will work with clients to prepare, analyze and present financial reports; create and track forecasts, prepare financial and operational scenario analyses; investigate financial trends and anomalies; and work on a variety of special accounting or finance projects. You may be called upon to set up accounting systems for new clients, advise on accounting software, review and analyze chart of accounts, or perform other related projects as they arise. 


In this role you will occasionally travel to client offices in the San Francisco Bay Area to meet with them face to face. RINA utilizes a team-based approach to serving its clients’ accounting and finance needs. You will be a part of multiple engagement teams serving clients. You should expect to collaborate in person with your engagement teams from time to time. For the right candidate, RINA may consider remote (to San Francisco Bay Area) work.


Activities may include, but are not limited to:

· Research answers to questions using accounting data, financial and operational reporting, and interviews with key client team members

· Write process documents to include visual workflows (process maps), timelines and calendars, key stakeholders, and detailed process instructions

· Review general ledger for trends, anomalies or specific research topics

· Creation of budgets and forecasts

· Interpret and present financial statements and other reporting

· Develop KPIs, dashboards or reports

· Utilize technical skills to create charts and graphs for visual understanding

· Provide solutions to accounting issues as they arise


Candidates should have a strong understanding of:

· General ledger and processing financial information

· Double entry accounting

· Financial statements

· Research using accounting, finance, or operational data

· Interfaces and communicates with clients professionally and clearly

· Manages one’s own time to complete projects and deliverables across clients

· Demonstrates expertise through experience, education, and certifications

Requirements

Education/Training/Certifications

1) Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field

2) CPA, CMA, CFA, or other designation showing commitment to your chosen field, is a plus


Skills

1) Excel - Advanced MS Excel skills

2) Experience with financial analysis tools and techniques

3) Excellent communication skills

4) Listening and interviewing skills

5) Proficient knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and debits/credits

6) Experience with Quickbooks, Xero, or other accounting systems, a plus

1) 3-7 years of experience in a Finance or Accounting role
