The Accounting Assistant is an entry level position which includes company-specific accounting training, and which is designed to support existing accounting staff and meet the growing accounting needs of Gulf of Maine Research Institute (GMRI) and its subsidiaries. Additional tasks will support the overall requirements of the accounting team and may include bank reconciliations, assisting with cash and receivables, payroll back-up, clerical support and special projects as needed.
Accounts Payable - The primary responsibilities of the position are accounts payable functions for GMRI and subsidiaries.
Bank and Investment Account Reconciliations – GMRI & Subsidiaries:
Backup to the Senior Accountant during annual giving season and processes gifts from Raiser’s Edge donation system to the Financial Edge accounting system:

Additional tasks will support the overall requirements of the accounting team.

Salary and Benefits
Gulf of Maine Research Institute offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Hourly Salary: $15.24 to $24.52
