We are seeking a qualified, motivated, and flexible candidate to perform crisis assessments and case management services for youth and families who are experiencing a mental health crisis as part of the Screening Assessment and Support Services (SASS) program. This position is part-time (both day and on-call availability required): 10-20 hours per week
- Responsible for working three day time shifts a week.
- Responsible for workings at least two on call shifts a week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for accepting crisis calls from the CARES line and therein providing a crisis screening to client at location requested. As part of the assessment, the Crisis Worker must assess risk, presenting problem, social history, self care habits, and family system. Intake forms must also be completed
- Responsible for managing small case load that is identified as having minimal needs and is assigned by Director of Crisis Services. This includes making follow-up calls to screen for additional needs and risk, ensuring that client and family have appropriate resources, communicating with supervisor if client is identified as having higher need and is out of scope of Crisis Worker’s practice, closing case if no further services are needed
- Responsible for networking with collaterals on behalf of crisis/active clients, including: referral and linkage, facilitation of level of care determined, and the advocacy of a client’s rights within the education, legal, state and mental health systems when indicated. This includes responsibility for coordinating services with our own sub-contracted agencies
- Must attend monthly group supervision and responsible for discussing cases with supervisor in clinical, individual and/or group supervision as need arises
- Responsible for completion of and meeting deadlines for all clinical paperwork for active clients and crisis clients
- Responsible for completion of and meeting deadlines for all agency administrative paperwork, including: 1009’s, billing slips, time sheets, expense sheets and any other administrative or agency requested reports
- Responsible for attending meetings as requested by Director of Crisis Services
- Responsible for serving on Agency and/or Program Committees when requested by supervisor
- Responsible for educating the community regarding the SASS program in the service area
- Responsible for facilitating positive networking relationships with community service providers and/or networks as assigned by supervisor
- Fulfill agency requirement of training and documenting all training attended and must attend all mandatory agency in-service trainings
- Be available to help develop materials and participate in special community education projects/presentations as requested by administrative staff
- Pursue and maintain licensure and/or certification that is available and appropriate to educational/professional background
- Perform incidental business related travel as needed
- Participate in agency Risk Management and Continuous Quality Improvement activities.
- Perform job responsibilities with a positive attitude
- Responsible for promoting collegiality at the workplace by working collaboratively with others
- Maintain FSA equipment
Eligible for flexible spending plan, Simple IRA where agency matches up to 3% of annual salary and access to an annual training budget of $125. Also, eligible for pro-rated flexible holiday depending on average hours worked in a week.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work or another related field. Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
This position is requires day time and on-call availability.
Day time shifts are:
Mondays: 1-6pm and 3-8pm
Tuesdays: 8a-1pm and 1-6pm
Wednesday: 8a-1pm, 1-6pm, and 2-8pm
Thursdays: 8a-1pm and 1-6pm
Fridays: 9a-1pm and 1-5pm
Hybrid workers would choose 2-3 shifts per week consistently.
On-call availability is between the hours of 12am-8am Monday through Thursday and weekend evenings.
Pay range from $17-$20 per hour for day shifts and $37-$50 per hour for on-call shifts dependent on experience, education, and skills.
Must have reliable transportation as there is much travel involved in these positions as this position requires travel throughout Kane and Kendall County. Must be a good team player, have the ability to work with people from very diverse backgrounds, be flexible, detailed oriented, and have a positive attitude.
Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen and provide proof of vehicle insurance that provides the following coverage: $100,000 Injury or death of one person in an accident; $300,000 Injury or death of more than one person in an accident; $100,000 damage to property of another person
