MS Art/Fine Arts Teacher

Teaches a part time load of one or more Middle School Art classes. These classes may potentially be combined with additional High School Fine Arts classes to become a larger part time or possibly full time position. Guides students to creatively explore and respond to God’s creation and revelation through drawing, painting, pottery and various other media.


FUNCTIONS:

  • Teaches a part time class load of 1 or more classes (1 day of 45-min periods, 2 or 4 days of 80-min block periods) of middle school art classes. 
  • Interacts with students as individuals in a compassionate and professional way. Guides student toward becoming virtuous young adults who reflect the heart of Christ. Creates high expectations for learning about and creating art while also taking into account the individual challenges (academic or otherwise) of the student. 
  • Develops clear lesson plans which encourage the curiosity, creativity, and leadership of the students. Emboldens students to consider their impact on the community (both PRCA community and the broader community). Evaluate and record student work in a timely fashion. Communicate with students and parents when grades are starting to be concerning and/or drop below satisfactory standards. 
  • Maintains an orderly classroom that fosters wonder, creativity, and beauty. Inventories, maintains, and orders art supplies and equipment. 
  • Participate fully in the life of the school in terms of high-quality academics, professional development, striving to fulfill the school’s mission statement, supporting all members of the school community, investing in the lives and hearts of the students, and attending various school events. 
  • Other: Weekly staff devotions and professional development. Attend and supervise assemblies, Chapels and seasonal field trips. Plan and lead a small group (approx. 12-15 students) 2x per month. Some flexibility for part time positions. 

HS Digital Art/Fine Art Teacher 

Teaches a part time load of one or more of the following classes: Digital Art, Yearbook. These classes may potentially be combined with additional High School Fine Arts classes or Middle School Art to become a larger part time or possibly full time position. Guides students to creatively explore and respond to God’s creation and revelation through drawing, painting, pottery and various other media.

  • Teaches a part time class load of 3 or more classes (1 day of 45-min periods, 4 days of 80-min block periods) of high school art classes.

Requirements

(Same requirements for both positions)

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in art, art education, or a related field. Official Transcripts required upon hiring. 
  • Years Experience: Specific Skills (technical or interpersonal) Proficient in drawing, painting, and ceramics with a willingness to explore other media. 
  • Licenses or Certifications Teaching certificate (preferred): CPR and First-Aid (class and certification available after hire) Fingerprint Clearance upon hiring. 
  • Physical Conditions: Work Environment - Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting. 
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50lbs
