System Administrator
Description

The System Administrator will support a variety of server and network services.  The position will support a variety of technologies including application deployment, active directory, IIS, cloud virtualization, server and SAN administration.  The incumbent will play a vital role in the implementation, development, and maintenance of robust systems needed to achieve our discovery research and clinical development goals.  The position will involve direct employee interaction in a supporting role. Primary responsibilities include:


• Oversee system performance and troubleshooting with print management, remote monitoring, DHCP/DNS, Group policies, and Active Directory

• Manage network servers and technology tools, such as Active Directory and Group Policy

• Provide Office 365 Administration

• Monitor server health utilizing event logs and other troubleshooting tools

• Troubleshoot technical issues and outages

• Perform system backup procedures, monitor antivirus clients and WSUS updates and ensure security through access controls, firewalls, and backups

• Perform systems maintenance, updates, and patches

• Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.

• Update/maintain/monitor systems with new releases and models

• VOIP Digium Support and Mobile Device Management

• Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies

• Liaise with the scientific staff and assist with specialized laboratory software issues

• Knowledge of and experience with SOX Compliance


Specific Network Administrator Duties:

• Active Directory Administrator

• ESX Management

• Cisco Management and Monitoring

• Backup & Recovery

• Antivirus / Malware Monitoring and Response

• Email Creation, Change, and Removal

• Mobile Device Support

• VoIP Support

• Update Management

• Workstation Installation, Maintenance, Upgrades, and Support

• Server Installation, Maintenance, Upgrades and Support

• Email and Messaging Administration

• Group Policy Administration


Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years’ experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role in a SOX compliant environment

• Experience in the biotech industry preferred but not required. 

• VMWare experience, including backup strategies appropriate to virtualized infrastructures

• Understanding of Active Directory and Office 365 integration

• Working technical knowledge of current network protocols.

• Experience with Powershell

• Cisco, Fortinet, Sophos, SAAS Backup experience

• Experience using and configuring cloud services and single sign-on

• Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills.

• Self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
