Description

Compiles and maintains records concerned with sourcing, ordering, receiving and storing supplies, commodities and/or merchandise for resale.  Verifies accuracy of figures and calculations pertaining to purchasing, receiving and sales transactions by performing the following duties.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Modifies procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, and inventory.


Modifies product pricing and costs as directed by the Purchasing Specialists.


Prepares requisitions, purchase orders or other documents for purchasing or requisitioning merchandise.  


Places orders with vendors via fax, EDI transmission, or other approved communications system.


Contacts vendors as needed for confirmations, shortages, credits, etc.


Provides data entry and administrative support to the Purchasing Specialists as necessary.


Maintains, as necessary, promotional file for sales flyers.


Participates in all required training assignments.


Displays teamwork and effort in performance of all duties.


Supports the goals and objectives of Ed Herrington, Inc. through adherence to company policies, safety guidelines, and work requirements for successful completion of all assignments.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Regular, full time.  Hours as assigned in a Sunday – Saturday workweek 

Proficient with computer data entry and use of company software programs
