United Way of Connecticut is based in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. We are conveniently situated right off of I-91, and are close to many shopping plazas, restaurants and public transit.

Every hour of every day, people in Connecticut turn to United Way of Connecticut for help.  We help people find and access the health and human services they need, including food, shelter, and other basic needs.  We respond in the event of weather emergencies, natural disasters and family and personal crises of any kind.  We assist parents and caregivers with finding the best child care for their family.  If you’re an individual who wants to make a difference in the communities we serve, we have Care4Kids Client Services Representative positions open on our Care4Kids team.


Care4Kids Client Services Representatives are trained professionals who provide detailed information about eligibility requirements and protocols, make referrals and document cases. You will be assessing client situations, entering accurate case data and maintaining narrative and statistical records of all client contacts.

The Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (3rd Thursday of every month); Full-Time

The Pay & Benefits: Competitive $14.50 per hour pay rate.

Job Grade: 11

  • High School Diploma/GED required with a minimum of two years’ experience in a customer service field required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Minimum of one year’s office experience involving use of telephone and computer.
  • Prior experience demonstrating strong computer and phone skills strongly preferred.
  • Previous Contact Center experience desirable.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications required.
  • Ability to handle a high call volume in a fast-paced Contact Center environment.
  • Ability to diffuse difficult situations while handling calls
  • Ability to follow strict guidelines in regard to verification and authorization.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in day-to-day duties.

  • Solid written and verbal communication, listening, organization and priority setting skills.
  • Strong customer focus in all tasks and activities, even while under pressure.
  • Solid problem solving skills.
