File Clerk (part-time)

Description

This position will be contact for all record keeping and clerical support for the facilities department.  Flexible schedule during business hours for 25-32 hours per week. 


This person must be able to set priorities, handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines with a high degree of urgency, and operate independently and collaboratively in a manner consistent with the mission and philosophy of the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation.


Essential Functions:

•Maintain the filing of organization-wide paperwork, with great attention to detail. Pulling midyear and yearend files and preparing for new year.

•Assist with mail. Weigh, stamp and post all out-going mail daily.

•Assist with American Micro and Iron Mountain storage – label, prepare, and track off-site archived files with Iron Mountain. 

•Other administrative duties as assigned and/or deemed necessary.

Skills and Abilities:

•Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and emails

•Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees.

•Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. 

•Ability to apply common sense understanding to carrying out simple one-or two- step instructions. 

•Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. 

•Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

•Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 

•Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.


Education and Experience:

Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Physical Requirements:

Must be able to regularly complete tasks at a computer terminal while sitting for long periods of time. Required to communicate and interpret detailed information orally. May exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Employee is required to have visual acuity to properly prepare and analyze assigned work. Typical indoor office environment with moderate noise level, frequent interruptions and fast work pace.
