As a Production Cook Lead on Tovala's team, you will be involved with food preparation and

packaging operations when needed. Production cook leads will help oversee and assist culinary production. Main responsibilities include ensuring recipes are being prepared correctly and safely. Communication and multitasking skills are essential. Experience working as a cook or leadership in a restaurant is a plus. Experience cooking in large batches and/or food manufacturing preferred.

Job Duties: 

  • Overseeing and assisting culinary production 
  • Ensuring recipes are being prepared correctly and safely 
  • Completing electronic and physical documentation regarding culinary production
  • Routinely checking for quality assurance
  • Enforcing good manufacturing practices in the production area



  • 3-5 years of culinary management experience 
  • Experience in catering, large batch cooking or food manufacturing strongly preferred
  • Strong knife skills
  • Ability to work overtime, and/or off-shifts shifts (early mornings, evenings, weekends) when needed is a plus
  • Possess a Food Handler's Permit for the state of Utah or willing to obtain one within 30 days
  • Able to lift, push or pull up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Able to stand, bend, lift and move intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours
  • Comfortable working in hot and cold temperature environments in the kitchen, warehouse and walk-in cooler for extended periods of time
