Description


We are seeking an experienced Intern Architect to join our growing Charlotte office. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Revit, be detail and deadline-oriented, and have experience in the production of challenging, fast-paced projects. The Intern Architect is responsible for assisting with all project phases from conceptual design through construction administration.


This is an excellent opportunity to learn and grow in a creative, diverse environment. McMillan Pazdan Smith has 250 employees across six locations in the Southeast. 


Essential Functions

  • Work from the designs of others and perform routine architectural assignments
  • Assist with field verification
  • Assist with preparation and participate in presentations
  • Compile data and perform design computations
  • Conduct code research and analysis
  • Review and verify shop drawings for design intent and accuracy with construction documents
  • Prepare architectural plans and renderings
  • Compile drawing sets
  • Produce construction documents
  • Collaborate with engineers, consultants, contractors, and/or clients
  • Assist with construction administration
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Architecture or Bachelor of Arts in Architecture
  • Five (5) years of experience as an Intern Architect
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel software
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite software
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Firm grasp of building technology fundamentals
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Architecture
  • AXP hours in progress
  • Experience with Newforma Project Center
  • Experience with Microsoft Project
  • Experience with Bluebeam PDF Revu
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit software
