The Senior Vice President of Community Development & Solutions is a member of the senior leadership team of Blue Star Families, and has the broadest scope of responsibility, including chapters and neighborhoods, membership and volunteers, along with programs, including both military lifestyle and military spouse career programs. The Senior Vice President will help develop and execute the strategic growth plan of the organization and lead high functioning teams. Duties include creating and enabling Blue Star Families’ nationally funded chapters and neighborhoods. This role will lead engagement and collaboration with civilian institutions and military partners to pursue partnerships that support military families while brokering solutions in select locales. The SVP of Community Development & Solutions will work with outside experts to develop a high-performing model, while planning and operating the rollout of Blue Star Families in sponsored chapter locations. This role encompasses program design and delivery, policy analysis and evaluation, military spouse employment programing, volunteer and member motivation and management. This position will help charter the direction of Blue Star Families through engagement with executive and senior leaders of Blue Star Families and the Board of Directors.
The successful candidate will be a seasoned and experienced leader who has personal experience with the military community and a passion for building community relationships and support. Ideally, the SVP will bring a strong background of interaction within the military community and a wide-ranging network of contacts and supporters who can be engaged in the BSF mission. The desired candidate will have a history of effective leadership in military or civilian settings.
