Fingerprint Technician

We are looking for talented and dedicated people to join our Fingerprinting team. You will play a critical role on our team, protecting the safety of children in child care programs throughout Connecticut by fingerprinting child care and education staff. Your work will give parents the comfort of knowing that the people taking care of their children have been screened for safety and security.


Who you are

  • You have a high school diploma or GED. 
  • You have some experience with customer service or call center operations. 
  • You are a personable team player with strong communication skills. 


What you will do

  • You will drive to child care programs throughout the state to fingerprint early childhood staff.
  • You will help early care and education staff fill out paperwork and schedule appointments.
  • You will provide administrative assistance to the early childhood team, helping with special projects as needed.


When and where you will work

Our team members typically work from 8 am to 4:30 pm, starting their days at our office in Rocky Hill before heading out into the community or working on site at United Way’s offices and dropping off equipment at the office before leaving for the day. Please note that your schedule will fluctuate to include up to two late nights per week and two Saturdays a month. You will use your own vehicle to drive to different centers with reimbursement for mileage.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Some experience with customer service or call center operations
  • Strong customer focus in all tasks and activities, even while under pressure
  • Strong communication skills
  • Comfortable with office systems and procedures
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in the day-to-day duties
  • Ability to follow strict guidelines associated with verification
  • Ability to work and produce in a team environment
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Hold valid CT driver’s license, registration, insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel to all regions of Connecticut
  • Ability to conform to flexible work schedule including nights and weekends
  • Ability to perform job with integrity and values consistent with the UWC mission
