We are seeking IT Support Staff for our facility in Des Moines, IA.  


Position Summary:  Provide technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. This position responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problems, and determines and implements solutions.


Essential Functions

  • Provide technical assistance for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Respond to queries either in person or over the phone.
  • Write training documentation and train computer users.
  • Maintain daily performance of computer systems.
  • Respond to email messages for customers seeking help.
  • Walk customer through problem-solving process.
  • Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
  • Perform virus and spyware updates on computers.
  • Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems.
  • Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.
  • Install computer peripherals for users.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved.
  • Gain feedback from customers about computer usage.
  • Run reports to determine malfunctions that continue to occur.
Requirements
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, to include Access, Excel, Outlook and Word.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 4 year degree in related field preferred.
  • 2 years related experience. 

Physical Demands: This position requires a variation of frequent sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day with occasional bending and squatting required to work on equipment. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Continuous vision required for detailed work. Frequent hand/wrist/finger movement for computer work.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but the schedule varies and requires flexibility to work as needed in the evenings and weekends. Typically 40 hours per week.


Travel: Some travel may be required to assist off-site employees as needed.
