We are looking for a talented, hyper-organized individual to join our team. This position plays a critical role within the Child Care Services team, working with staff members to make sure that they are adhering to protocols and making recommendations about process improvements that will further improve our effectiveness as an organization. This position is ideal for an administrative assistant seeking to take their next career step.

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree and are a strong written and verbal communicator with great organizational skills. 
  • You understand the importance of rules and are skilled in supporting other people in navigating systems. 
  • You love order, but also are comfortable changing gears quickly while making sure everything remains accurate. 
  • You have a strong comfort-level with technology, and you are able to quickly understand how to use a variety of tools to get things done. 

What you will do

  • You will schedule trainings and fingerprinting sessions for the early childhood team, keeping calendars up-to-date for staff and vendors.
  • You will collect data, coordinate registration for trainings, and manage attendance for participants. You will prepare reports on training attendance for management and funders. 
  • You will manage procedures, documenting protocols for how staff delivers services to make sure that we are consistent in the quality we deliver. You will apply your creative and analytical mindset to figure out ways to refine our efforts. 

When and where you will work

This is a first shift position working Monday through Friday. You will have the opportunity to work from home 80% of the time after completion of your initial in-person training.

The Pay & Benefits: $17.42 - $25.27 Per hour

Spanish- or Portuguese-speaking applicants who are hired and pass certification will get an additional $.75 per hour.

Available Shifts: Monday through Friday 8:00a.m. – 4:30p.m.

After job training, position will be hybrid (in office and remote).


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field, or Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field with three years’ related work experience.
  • Knowledge of the business processes of designated units and the technologies used within.
  • In-depth knowledge of State fingerprinting submission system and use of fingerprinting devices.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge and experience in office systems and operation of office equipment including telephone, copiers, printers, fax machines, scanners and mail/postage equipment required.
  • Considerable knowledge of proper grammar, punctuation and spelling required.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in day-to-day duties.
  • Ability to follow strict guidelines in regard to verification and authorization
  • Solid written and verbal communication, listening, organization, detail orientation and priority setting skills.
  • Ability to travel to all regions of Connecticut at all times; Valid CT Driver's License, Registration, Insurance and reliable transportation required at all times for travel to meetings and trainings.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple and changing priorities even under pressure; takes initiative while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Strong customer focus in all tasks and activities, even while under pressure.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
  • Solid problem solving skills.
  • Ability to take initiative in identifying and solving problems.
  • Ability to work and produce in a team environment.
  • Ability to relate well with people from diverse groups.
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish preferred.
