We are looking for a passionate experienced SysOps/DevOps focused software engineer who is experienced with the full Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC), release management, and modern tools and pipelines. An ideal candidate has mentored junior and senior engineers, helped scale products by applying modern techniques such as serverless and microservice architectures, and used monitoring products such as DataDog and PM2 in production. 

This candidate will report to the Director of Information and Security.



· Create, migrate, and maintain distributed cloud systems 

· Show creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage, reliability and effectiveness 

· Reinforce development best practices for quality assurance, security, and deployment 

· Instill and drive a delivery-focused culture while promoting a fun hardworking workplace 

· Contribute to research and the design of new distributed systems 

· Maintain and configure DevOps services such as GitHub Actions

· Maintain and configure SysOps services such as GCP CloudRun, Azure Compute, etc

· Build and maintain monitoring systems such as DataDog, New Relic, Atlassian OpsGenie, etc

· Coach and mentor Engineers in certification processes and new cloud techniques 


Required skills


· BSc Computer Science or similar 

· 7+ years experience deploying and maintaining scalable infrastructure in production 

· 5+ years working with containers and similar tooling (Docker, Kubernetes) 

· 2+ years working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC, ideally Terraform) 

· Professional certifications in 1 of the following: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud 

· Strong knowledge of building multi-region reliable systems with disaster recovery policies 

· Strong knowledge of network troubleshooting and terminology including LAN/WAN, Routers, Firewalls, Switches, TCP/IP (IPv4), DNS, Subnets, etc

· Strong experience in implementing and using performance, alerting, and monitoring tooling such as DataDog, New Relic, Callstats, LightStep, StatusPage, etc 

· Experience in code reviewing and writing one or more of the following languages/scripts: JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, Python, C, C++, Rust, Bash, CloudFormation, TerraForm 

· Experience in Incident management experience and Information Security awareness 

· Experience network technologies and breadth knowledge of multiple firewall vendors 

· Experience in creating HIPAA and GDPR compliant systems 

· Strong technical writing ability 

Desired Skills

· Experience of working in a NOC, preferably in a SaaS (software as a service) environment 

· Experience in setting up continuous integration and continuous deployment tools and pipelines 

· Experience in Microservices and functions e.g. Claudia.JS on AWS Lambda Location 

· Experience in cyber security and compliance is a plus
